Many software packages are available to students to install on their personal machines. When possible, running software on a local machine may be the more reliable than remotely accessing software. All Engineering packages listed here are available for Windows. A few are available for Apple computers.

All Auburn University students can install the full version of Matlab by visiting: https://aub.ie/matlab
Adobe Icon
Students should go to https://adobe.auburn.edu/ to request an account. Adobe accounts are provisioned by campus IT. Students will receive login instructions for the Adobe.com website.
Ansys Icon
A comprehensive software suite that spans the entire range of physics, providing access to virtually any field of engineering simulation that a design process requires. Students can access the software at the following link: https://www.ansys.com/academic/free-student-products/
ArcGIS Icon

Instructions for students:

  • Go to https://esri.com/educationedition/ to begin the process of activating and downloading your ArcGIS for Desktop Student Trial software.
  • Log in using your Existing Esri Global Account or create an Esri Global account.
  • Enter the authorization code you received in Step 2 and click the ‘Activate ArcGIS’ button.
  • If you created a new account thereby navigating away from the page to enter your authorization code return to esri.com/educationedition and sign in.
  • Select the appropriate ArcGIS for Desktop version.
  • Ensure you have met all prerequisites (Windows OS, Windows 7 or higher, etc.).
  • Download, install, and authorize the software following on-screen instructions.

An AU username and password are required to access the site. If you are connecting from your personal computer or an off campus location, you must connect to VPN. Create an account (New users only):

  • Go to https://account.wolfram.com/auth/sign-in click "Create Account"
  • Fill out form using an @auburn.edu email, and click "Create Wolfram ID"
  • Check your email and click the link to validate your Wolfram ID

Request the download and key:

  • Fill out this form to request an Activation Key
  • Click the "Product Summary page" link to access your license
  • Click "Get Downloads" and select "Download" next to your platform
  • Run the installer on your machine, and enter Activation Key when prompted
